Best Practices
Get the most out of the A/B Test Knowledge Base by giving your AI the right context.
The formula
Context + Section + Goal = valuable output
The more specific your prompt, the more actionable the results.
Good vs bad prompts
Bad: too vague
"What works?"
"Show me some tests"
"Help me with CRO"
These return unfocused result dumps. The AI can't prioritize what matters for your situation.
Good: specific context
"I'm building a SaaS pricing page. What A/B tests show the optimal number of pricing tiers?"
"My hero section has a generic headline and two CTAs. What do winning tests say about that?"
"Search for trust section tests on mobile for B2B SaaS"
What to include in your prompt
| Context | Why it helps | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Page type | Filters to relevant tests | "...for a SaaS landing page" |
| Section | Focuses on one area | "...in the hero section" |
| Goal | AI picks relevant tests | "...to reduce bounce rate" |
| What's there now | AI can compare against patterns | "We have 3 testimonials but no logos" |
| Industry | More relevant matches | "...for B2B SaaS" |
| Device | Filters by device | "...70% of our traffic is mobile" |
Best prompts by use case
Building a wireframe
"Create a wireframe brief for a B2B SaaS landing page covering hero, trust, product_demo, and cta — only winning patterns."
This calls find_tests_for_wireframe with the right sections and gives you a structured brief with DO rules and top test insights per section.
Auditing an existing design
"My hero has a headline 'The All-in-One Solution', a subtitle about features, no social proof, and two CTAs (free trial + demo). What do A/B tests say about each of these choices?"
The AI will search for relevant tests and give specific, data-backed feedback on each element.
Making a design decision
"Should I put testimonials in the hero or in a separate trust section? Search for tests about testimonial placement."
"Three pricing tiers vs four — search for paradox of choice tests on pricing pages."
Finding proven patterns
"What CRO patterns have a win rate over 70% and are backed by at least 5 tests?"
This calls get_patterns with min_tests: 5 and returns only battle-tested patterns.
